Mickel Therapy
When we are sick, we can be left feeling helpless, dealing with the symptoms in our body.

We want to stop these symptoms as soon as possible so often resort to taking medication, changing our diet and slowing down.
Therapy Club can help you find a better way using Mickel Therapy.
The Methodology
The thinking brain
While the thinking brain is hugely important, from an early age society places too much importance on it and we lose our ability to connect with the emotional part of our brain.
The emotional brain
we help you to harness the power of your emotional brain, learning how to tune in to stress and then change our actions, stopping stress and in turn our symptoms.
Emotional action
We help you to notice the emotions being sent when you have symptoms and guide you on how changing your response can mean your symptoms stop.
It is..
-
A solution focused talking therapy
-
It can work in just a few sessions
-
Empowering, as it guides you how to change your behaviour to stop the symptoms
-
It helps you understand why you have become ill
-
A clear set of tools for you to put into practice
It is not...
-
It is not psychotherapy
-
It is not Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
-
It does not involve medication or diet change
-
It does not involve expensive supplements
-
It does not involve physical contact other than speaking by phone or Zoom
Developed by Dr David Mickel
Mickel Therapy is based on the hypothesis that the Hypothalamus gland in the brain - which regulates all of our body systems - can become overactive creating a wide range of symptoms.

It is thought that this happens as a result of accidentally ignoring emotions which leads the emotional brain to enlist the help of the hypothalamus to get our attention by sending us symptoms; it is the emotional brain's way of shouting louder at us to evoke a reaction.

Mickel Therapy gives people the guidance and tools to effectively listen to their body, translate symptoms back into emotions and take appropriate action. When we do this, the need for symptoms and, therefore the symptoms themselves, should disappear.
